Where does Gmail get its space?

Ever wonder where Gmail gets all of its space? How can it afford to keep giving so much. Especialy with the "special" allogorithm they have (see: gmail char - infinity plus one). So, as always the internet has the answer. Someone has worked out where its all coming from.
